Top Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Romania, Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in Romania showed varying performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at the top five apps based on Sensor Tower's data.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating download trend, beginning with 22.3K downloads in early July and peaking at 33K by the end of the month. This was followed by a decline, reaching 17.6K by the end of September. Active users showed a similar pattern, starting at 2.9M and ending at approximately 2.5M.

Google Maps Go maintained a relatively stable download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 7.2K and 11.2K over the quarter. The app generated modest revenue, peaking at $48 in mid-August. Active users decreased slightly from 7.8M to 7.4M by the end of September.

Drivers Chat saw a dramatic rise in downloads, especially in late August and September, peaking at 20.9K. However, the app did not generate any revenue during the quarter, and active user data was unavailable.

Google Earth reported consistent download numbers, ranging from 4.4K to 5.9K weekly. Active users started at 108.5K and fluctuated slightly, ending at 90.2K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Satellite View - Maps - Radar showed impressive growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads surged from 399 in mid-July to 8.4K by early September. Revenue also saw a slight increase, peaking at $34 in mid-September, while active users rose from 5.5K to 16.3K within the quarter.
